Alitus Women’s Circles

for rest, reflection, and deep connection

Alitus Circles are intimate, in-person women’s circles in Brisbane, offering a space for relational healing, reflection, and embodied connection. Each circle is carefully curated and facilitated by Emily to support women to return to a sense of belonging - within themselves and alongside others.

Weaving together nervous system science, reverence for the body’s wisdom, and simple ritual, Circle becomes a space where what is already living within you can gently emerge and be met.

When women gather in circle, something ancient wakes up
— Lucy H Pearce

Women have gathered in circles for as long as there have been women: to mark thresholds, to share stories, to grieve, to celebrate, to remember who they are together. These circles are for women who feel the quiet pull toward connection - especially if you’ve been feeling alone, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.

A place that reminds you of your sacred worth

Perhaps there is a loneliness to your life that you can’t quite shake. A sense that something is missing, not on the material level, but deeper. On the level of your heart, your soul. You have begun to sense a longing to gather, to commune, to connect.

To sit with other women without having to explain yourself. To hold and be held in spaces where you have the choice to speak or not speak, to witness and be witnessed. Knowing that you belong there.

If you’ve found your way here, something in you may recognise this longing.

The truth

You have been raised in a culture that pits women against one another; a culture that has torn us apart and keeps us separate. And so, each of us struggle onwards alone, too exhausted to know where to take the grief we feel of our lost sisterhood.

And yet, the longing to come together in Circle lives within each of us, as an intuitive knowing that when we gather, we are stronger. When we sit together in Circle, there is an energetic resonance that touches the soul, and reignites the flame of empowerment.

Modern life has pulled women away from each other and from ourselves - leaving many feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and disconnected despite being constantly surrounded by others.

Circle offers a way back.

Why I became a women’s circle facilitator here in Brisbane

I moved to Australia from Scotland in 2014. It was a messy, somewhat spontaneous transition that left me stranded on the other side of the world from my home country, without funds, friends, or any sense of a future. The years that followed were the loneliest of my life… there were some days I thought the ache of isolation might actually break me.

12 years later, I know intimately the healing power of relationship. In my work as a somatic nutrition therapist, I sit beside women navigating food, body, illness, shame and over and over again I witness the healing power of nervous system tethering to nervous system. The energetic resonance of the shared space is the source of healing, of reclamation, of empowerment. And in the years I have sat in this space, I have witnessed a knowing arise within me: as women we need space to gather again. Where the wisdom that emerges from our lived experience can weave with the wisdom of our sisters in shared space.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM CIRCLE

Each circle is gently structured to create a sense of safety, flow, and ease - no prior experience with women’s circles is needed.

welcome

in the week before circle, you will receive your welcome email outlining the circle agreements, which acknowledge and honour the sacredness of circle medicine and help us create a space where each soul in attendance feels safe.

arrival

you are invited to arrive 15 mins before circle begins to provide time to gather props (provided) for a comfortable seated experience. there will also be time to gather a gentle beverage to help ground yourself (herbal teas and water provided).

grounding

circle is opened with a grounding exercise led by Emily, to help everyone orient to the space.

learning

each circle is given a theme which informs teachings and learning activities, which may include journaling, creative crafts, writing, guided movement

sharing

members are invited to speak from the heart. there is never any pressure or obligation to speak if you are not comfortable doing so. when members are sharing, everyone is invited to listen deeply without offering advice.

closing

circles are closed with ceremony, after which you are invited to leave at whatever pace feels intuitively right for you.

Many women come to circle seeking connection, nervous system regulation, and a space to slow down, and over time, they begin to notice:

a deeper sense of belonging / increased trust in their own inner signals / less urgency to have it ‘all figured out’ / clarity around boundaries, needs and truth / relief in being seen without explanation

WHAT WOMEN ARE SAYING ABOUT ALITUS CIRCLES
  • "embracing parts of myself that felt forgotten"

I am so much more easy-going in life and trusting of the universe and nature. I am embracing parts of myself that felt forgotten or put away ages ago. I am in tune with my body more and enjoy getting to know myself. I feel comforted that I am connected to something I can look forward to each month with women who feel the same way.

  • "I have left each one feeling calm, content, reflective, reinvigorated"

I have been working with Emily for a while now regarding recommendations for my nutrition and diet, when the opportunity arose to participate in her current Women's Circle offering. This was incredibly timely, as I am going through significant changes and upheavals in my life due in part to the onset of peri-menopause, and this was a chance to find grounding, connection, quiet reflection, and a renewed sense of self. I have participated in three of the four sessions so far, and I have left each one feeling calm, content, reflective, reinvigorated, and as an added bonus, have slept incredibly well after. I highly recommend these Circles for any woman feeling a little disconnected, lost, tired, or just curious. Come and listen to Emily's knowledge and storytelling - it is definitely worth it!

  • "I feel grateful and blessed to have this space to unwind, and unload"

In joining Alitus Women's Circle, I have loved getting to know myself, and other like-minded women in such an intimate, powerful, and peaceful environment. Each month I look forward to hearing the new stories, tales, and topics for discussion, and then being able to relate and reflect on them together afterwards as a little community. After a busy month, I feel grateful and blessed to have this space to unwind, and unload for a few hours with women who help me feel supported and held.

ONGOING HEARTH CIRCLES

1st Thursday of the month

Thursday Hearth Circles

Small, ongoing women’s circle gathering monthly in Brisbane. Designed as spaces of continuity, belonging, nervous system exhale, and deepening connection, Alitus Hearth Circles bring together the same women over time, allowing trust and relational safety to emerge gradually and organically.

These circles remain intentionally intimate (maximum 10 women) and are gently facilitated by Emily each month through seasonal themes, reflection, creativity, ritual, embodied practices, and shared conversation. This is not a drop-in offering, but rather a committed relational space; a hearth to return to.
