July Hearth Circle

A warm, relational hearth, for the woman who wants to remember how to belong, to herself, to community, to her life.

Hearth Circles at Alitus are deeply transformative spaces, a reminder of what it feels like to truly belong; a sacred reclamation of what should never have been lost. They are relational containers of trust, witnessing, and nourishment in the company of kindred folk.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CIRCLE?

A gentle email arrives in your inbox 2 days before the Circle with the monthly welcome and introduction to the topic.

Welcome

Women are invited to arrive 15 mins before Circle begins to give you time to gather yourself a herbal tea and any seating comforts, as well as to greet your kindred Circle members, and land gently in your seat.

Arrival

We begin each Circle with a welcome ritual, which includes an invitation to place anything of meaning on the alter. This is followed by a short, somatic grounding exercise led by Emily.

Grounding

We embark upon exploring the Circle’s theme for the evening with short teachings or readings. Material is sourced from folk tales and other sources of ancient wisdom, as well as from contemporary sources.

Learning

Women are invited to share their reflections on what came alive for them during the teaching. There is never any pressure to speak in Circle, some days you may feel the desire to share, other Circles you may not. Either way, you are a treasured member of our Circle.

Sharing

We engage in some form of embodied practice to integrate the theme. This might be creative activities, somatic movement to music, personal reflection. Your level of engagement in these activities is dictated by you.

Embodying

We close the Circle with intention, and each woman who feels called to do so shares what she is taking away with her from Circle.

I am so much more easy-going in life and trusting of the universe and nature. I am embracing parts of myself that felt forgotten or put away ages ago. I am in tune with my body more and enjoy getting to know myself. I feel comforted that I am connected to something I can look forward to each month with women who feel the same way.

I have been working with Emily for a while now regarding recommendations for my nutrition and diet, when the opportunity arose to participate in her current Women's Circle offering. This was incredibly timely, as I am going through significant changes and upheavals in my life due in part to the onset of peri-menopause, and this was a chance to find grounding, connection, quiet reflection, and a renewed sense of self. I have participated in three of the four sessions so far, and I have left each one feeling calm, content, reflective, reinvigorated, and as an added bonus, have slept incredibly well after. I highly recommend these Circles for any woman feeling a little disconnected, lost, tired, or just curious. Come and listen to Emily's knowledge and storytelling - it is definitely worth it!

In joining Alitus Women's Circle, I have loved getting to know myself, and other like-minded women in such an intimate, powerful, and peaceful environment. Each month I look forward to hearing the new stories, tales, and topics for discussion, and then being able to relate and reflect on them together afterwards as a little community. After a busy month, I feel grateful and blessed to have this space to unwind, and unload for a few hours with women who help me feel supported and held.
